As we go through life we search for our purpose, our place, our comfort, our peace, and we all hope to find them.

I’ve always known who I am, and my purpose.  With that, I’ve had peace and comfort.  Along the way things sometimes happen beyond our control or understanding.  Something major happened to me in 2016 that led me to painting - I had a stroke.  Fortunately, I was working at a hospital at the time, and I was at my desk.  After the stroke, I was unable to continue to work due to what it did to me.  I was unable to function physically, mentally and emotionally at the same capacity as before the stroke.  I’ve been gradually improving since then, and in January of this year I found that painting was my therapy helping me through the anxiety I was living with and continue to live with.  Painting became my calming activity. With painting,  I am able to relax, find my comfort, and find my peace.  I can, and do, spend hours painting by numbers – even in the middle of the night when I have difficulty sleeping.  Any anxiety just fades away.

My paintings are 1 of 1. The paintings that I choose are ones that touch me in one way or another. Although I do not do “Specialty Order” like a painting of a family photo or pet, I do try to personalize the ones that I have found. I have also customized a number of paintings.  For example, I modified one painting to include a specific car with a customized license plate.  Another customer wanted a “Family” themed painting and I was able to do that as well with just a little change.

The paintings I’ve created do not require a frame and are light enough that a small nail or thumbtack will hold them up on the wall to enjoy.
